Who I am

My name is Brad Emel and I am a farmer for my family farm, Coon Creek Farms. I live in Central Illinois with my wife, Fayanne.

My Job

I can do just about any job the farm requires. From chemical application to software engineering I'm their man. I take pride in accomplishing the most difficult and challenging tasks.

My Hobbies

I have too many hobbies to keep up with any more. I've had to make a new rule, each time I pick up a new hobby I have to drop an old one. So far, this isn't working out very well. Currently I'm active in the following areas:

• Storm Chaser
  Since 2005 I've taken a week vacation in the plains to chase storms. Scott Sims is my chase partner and we enjoy chasing together. In 2007 the company we both worked for went under a few months before our vacation. We were unable to take a vacation in 2007. We've chased in IL, IN, NM, CO, NE, SD, and KS. • Computers
  Would this be considered a hobby if I work on computers? I think so. I've got anywhere between 4 and 7 computers running in my office all the time.
• MythTV
  MythTV has been a part of my life since 12/01/06. There have been several ups and downs since then. Several issues destroyed my faith in MythTV. But Soon they released MythDora and it was the best thing ever. Since then MythTV has been the best thing that ever happened to me. I've got 2 recorders and 4 players. The MythDora 4 distro has been extremely stable for me.
